Professor Dr Nooritawati Md Tahir

Nooritawati Md Tahir (PhD, CEng, and SMIEEE) is currently a Professor at the College of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. With her expertise, she has secured over RM15M in research grants as both a principal investigator and collaborator. Under her supervision, nineteen PhD and nine Master’s students have successfully graduated. Her research interests is in image processing, pattern recognition, and computational intelligence, with a particular focus on gait recognition, which explores how human attributes and gait analysis can be used for recognition purposes, including the biomedical field, such as autism and Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Nooritawati has contributed to the field with over 250 publications, including a recently published book on gait analysis. Additionally, she serves as the Chapter Chair for the Control System Society in the IEEE Malaysia Section.
The first conference organized by UTAS – Ibri will take place on 10 – 12 December 2023 is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed international conference on computing and data analytics uses in all computing fields including applied mathematics.
